English Landscapes Maintenance's contract at the Joint Service Command and Staff College is to provide first class grounds maintenance to this military college, which is a centre of excellence and is already achieving world class educational standards.

The contract comprises:

Complete grounds maintenance activities - horticulture, aboriculture, road and path cleaning and maintenance of Bower Brook and the Lagoon
Sports pitch maintenance for a County Standard cricket pitch and artificial wicket, football and rugby pitches, tennis courts and an International Standard sand-filled artificial hockey pitch
Maintenance of the grounds to some 290 military houses - turf, trees, hedges and grass cutting
Cleaning of roads, footpaths, cycle-ways, car parks and other areas of hard landscaping
Implementation of a continuous improvement scheme to combat the poor quality and drainage caused by the use of local soils

Environmental solutions included on this contract have been the implementation of a green waste recycling scheme and the management of wildlife on the site.
